Hazardous activities
While the camp takes all reasonable steps to keep campers safe, parents accept that there is some level of inherent risk in the range of activities provided by SILC Academy. Parents are required to complete the Participant Agreement and Participant Terms Agreement, which form part of the terms and conditions for the Swiss Teen Summit.
Responsibility for injury, damage, or loss
SILC Academy is not liable for accidents, injuries or damage to property suffered by students, however so caused. Likewise, the camp cannot accept responsibility for accidents, injuries or damage to property caused by a student to a third party.
SILC Academy cooperates with selected agents (“Agents”) that may sell, market, or refer potential participants to the programmes organised by SILC Academy. Agents do not act as the service provider and only refer students to enter into a contract with SILC Academy. Agents have no role in the operation of the summer camp and programme and have no liability to the students in relation to the operation of the summer camp.
Medical
Parents are required to complete the health form, which forms part of the terms and conditions. Parents will receive a separate email with all the forms they need to complete later in the registration process.
Alterations to Programme
SILC Academy offers a wide range of activities for the campers. The published programme is for guidance and changes might occur for logistic or meteorological reasons.
Force Majeure
SILC Academy can suspend or even stop, the programme and all other services, in particular the summer camp, for reasons of force majeure, natural disasters (e.g. fire, floods, earthquakes, storms), explosions, epidemics, quarantines, sabotage, riots, civil unrest, strikes, war or any other similar circumstances affecting the sustainable operation of the holding of the SILC Academy summer camp. In case of force majeure, the Parents acknowledge that the inability to provide the services is not attributable to SILC Academy so that SILC Academy is not due to provide any reimbursement, even partial. However, SILC Academy is offering the option to defer to next year’s camp period without penalty.
Camp Rules
Campers must follow the rules mentioned on the Charter, which they will receive upon their arrival. SILC Academy requests that the parents take note of the following:
The camp is a smoke, alcohol and drug free camp. Students caught buying, detaining, or consuming any of these will be immediately expelled from the camp.
In such case, the parents are obliged to take immediate steps to arrange for the withdrawal of their child from the camp and his/her return home.
SILC Academy claims no responsibility for loss or theft of personal items; all extra money held by the students should be handed in to the direction for safe keeping. Valuables are forbidden.
Parents are financially responsible for any damage caused by their children.
